Issue/Introduction

Pod and container statistics and metrics are not displaying or populating for VMware Kubernetes Service (VKS) clusters within the VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Operations dashboard.

Environment

VCF Operations 9.x

Cause

The Pod and Container Monitoring Enabled advanced setting is set to False by default on the VKS Cluster object within Inventory Management.

Resolution

To enable pod and container monitoring for the affected VKS clusters, perform the following steps:

  1. Go to the Inventory Management tile in the Inventory Configurations.
  2. In the search tab, enter the name of the VKS Cluster for which you want to enable pod and container monitoring to locate the object.
  3. Click the edit icon to edit the object. The Edit Object dialog box opens.
  4. Enter True for the Pod and Container Monitoring Enabled setting under the Advanced Settings. (The default value is False).
  5. Click OK.
