VM policy shows as "Non-availability related incompliance with pending policy", resync is in a hung state

Issue/Introduction

• Object status shows as  "Non-availability related incompliance with pending policy".

• The Primary site space utilization is higher than the Secondary site which has more free space.

         

• The object storage policy associated with the VM is showing  as Not-Complaint. 
• The components associated to the object shows as "Reconfiguring" via command esxcli vsan debug object list -u <object_uuid>
• Host(s) fail to enter maintenance mode.

Environment

VMware vSAN (All Versions)

vSAN Stretch Cluster

Cause

The resynchronization process stalled due to capacity exhaustion at the primary site. 

Resolution

Update the storage policy to use the secondary site which has more free space to allow vSAN resync to complete.
