Issue/Introduction

Creating an environment fails with LCMCOMMON80049.

From the vmware_vrlcm.log:

Injecting task failure event. Error Code : 'LCMCOMMON80049', Retry : 'true', Causing Properties : '{ CAUSE :: vcUsername === vcPassword YXYXYXYX vCenterHost === hostNameOrIP === skipVcenterValidations ===  }'
com.vmware.vrealize.lcm.common.exception.EngineException: Failed to find the product in the specified vCenter. vRealize Log Insight instance with hostname or IP not found in given vCenter details. Make sure node is powered on in the vCenter Server . Make sure all the nodes are present in the vCenter Servers provided. Else, add the missing vCenter Servers. Ensure the credentials provided for the vCenter Servers are valid or skip the task using the 'Skip vCenter validation' option during retry

Resolution

If the vCenter where the product resides is in linked mode both vCenters must be selected.

  1. Log into VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle manager.
  2. Select Lifecycle Operations from the main page.
  3. Click the Environments tab on the left menu.
  4. Click the 3 dotted button next to the environment you want to add the product to.
  5. Click "Add to Product" and check the product you want to add.
  6. Hit Next to proceed to the Products page.
  7. Enter in the required fields and verify information is correct.
  8. In the "vCenter Server List" select both vCenters that are in linked mode.
  9. Hit Next to to Summary.
  10. Hit Submit to proceed with importing the environment.
