Issue/Introduction

After the completion of a vMotion, a VM loses connectivity completely. When the MAC address table is checked on the Cisco Catalyst physical switch, it shows the VM's MAC address associated with two different switchports including the one on the new ESXi host it's running on.

Environment

VMware ESXi
VMware vCenter Server

Cause

This is a result of a known bug in the physical switch. Any MAC address should only be associated with one interface at any time.

Resolution

Please contact Cisco Support with the information in the Cisco KB article above.
