Issue/Introduction

The vCenter plugin within VCF Operations Orchestrator periodically enters an unusable state affecting automated workflows.

unusable: java.lang.RuntimeException

com.vmware.o11n.plugin.vsphere.connect.SessionWrapper - session <vc_user@vc_host> SDK in bad health: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException
Caused by: com.vmware.vim.binding.vim.fault.NotAuthenticated: The session is not authenticated.

Environment

VCF Operations Orchestrator 9.x

Cause

vCenter plugin host becomes unusable due to the session with the vCenter is terminated remotely. This happens when vCenter is restarted or there are too many sessions and the vCenter has terminated some of them.

Resolution

Update the vCenter plugin with attached plugin.

  1. Download the attached latest vCenter plugin.

  2. Update the vCenter plugin in VCF Operations Orchestrator with the provided patch as per the following tech docs.
