VMware vSphere ESXi

Issue/Introduction

  • When accessing the ESXi Host Client through a web browser, virtual machines briefly appear for approximately two seconds and then disappear from the dashboard or inventory view.

  • The VMs continue to run normally with no active alerts or errors reported.

  • Presence and power state of VMs can still be verified from the Host CLI/SSH by running the command: vim-cmd vmsvc/getallvms

Cause

This issue is caused by a client-side browser rendering problem. The behavior is typically associated with browser cache or session-related inconsistencies affecting how the user interface renders inventory data.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, perform the following steps:

  1. Access the ESXi Host Client using an alternative supported web browser, such as Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, or Google Chrome.

  2. Clear the browser cache and cookies.

  3. Reload the browser session and retry access.

  4. Ensure the web browser is updated to the latest version.

If the issue persists after performing these steps, contact Broadcom Support for further assistance.
