The cost driver for a licensable OS (like Red Hat) was removed from the User Assigned column in the Operations > Configurations > Cost Drivers > License > Customize License Assignment dialog, but the cost is still reflected in the Cost|Monthly Host OS License Total Cost metric for the host after the next cost calculation is completed.
There is a known issue that affects servers that have a single System Discovered operating system when reviewing in the Infrastructure Operations > Configurations > Cost Drivers > License > Customize License Assignment dialog.
If the single OS is removed from the server in the User Assigned column, the cost for the OS will be incorrectly assigned to the server during the cost calculation. This issue does not affect servers with two or more System Discovered operating systems.
The Broadcom developer team is aware of this issue and it will be fixed in an upcoming version of VCF Operations.
Log in to the VCF Operations UI and navigate to Infrastructure Operations > Configurations > Cost Drivers > License
Expand the affected operating system section and click Edit for Individual Servers
Click Select Server(s) for customization and select the affected server(s) from the list
Set the Monthly Cost to 0 then click Save
Wait for the next cost calculation to run (or navigate to Administration > Control Panel > Cost Calculation to run it on demand)
Review the Cost|Monthly Host OS License Total Cost metric for the affected server(s) to validate the licensing cost is removed
