VCF Update Pre-Check Fails Due to Stale VI Domain Records in SDDC Manager

Issue/Introduction

In VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), the SDDC Manager update pre-check fails to complete successfully. Upon inspection, the SDDC Manager main dashboard displays stale records of a previously deleted VI domain, specifically showing lingering vCenter, cluster, and host objects.

Environment

VCF 5.x

Cause

An incomplete previous manual database cleanup of a VI domain left orphaned vCenter, cluster, and host records in the SDDC Manager database. The update pre-check workflow fails because it cannot accurately validate the current environment topology against these ghost records.

Resolution

Contact Broadcom support to open a ticket; this issue requires a deeper investigation into the SDDC database.
