Slow performance when retrieving virtual machines objects in VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator vCenter plugin

Issue/Introduction

You experience performance degradation within the VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator vCenter plugin. When you retrieve objects, specifically searching for virtual machines, the action takes between 30 to 60 minutes instead of the expected 1 to 2 minutes.

Environment

VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator 8.18.1

Cause

This issue occurs because an unusable vCenter endpoint is present in the inventory. When the workflow attempts to iterate and query all vCenter endpoints, it hangs or delays significantly on the unusable endpoint before proceeding.

Resolution

Run the Update a vCenter Server instance workflow to restore the unusable endpoint. Once repaired, subsequent workflow executions should complete within the expected 2-minute timeframe.
