Issue/Introduction

Disk usage MCS profile deployed on target servers, however, when looking at the probe GUI or cdm.cfg enables metrics are not all ticked so some metrics are not being collected.

When looking at the plugin_metric.cfg it is correctly deployed, however, still the metric is disabled at a CFG level. NOT all metrics are shipped, when looking at Dr. nimbus, not all QOS that it is enabled in plugin_metric is sent.

Environment

  • DX UIM 23.4 CU3 and earlier
  • cdm 7.* / 8.*

Cause

Issues or inconsistencies with MCS Deployments in former Versions < DX UIM 23.4CU4

Resolution

  • To resolve these issue upgrade to the latest version of DX UIM 23.4 see DX Unified Infrastructure Management - Cumulative Updates & Patches
DX UIM 23.4.CU4 and later MCS deployments are consistent

  • If Upgrade of DX UIM is not possible in the short term apply the following steps:
    • Upgrade CDM to the latest version available
    • Upgrade the robot to the latest version supported by the version of DX UIM: Eg: for DX UIM 23.4CU3 --> robot_update 23.4.3.*
    • Ensure configuration_reader_service is running the latest version available in archive in both the primary hub and the hub where the affected target robots are attached to.
    • Redeploy the SETUP CDM (Enhanced) MCS cdm template. (Make a change to the template so it is redeployed/pushed to the target servers).

After this the profiles should be patched correctly (verify if the affected metrics are now ticked in the probe CFG and flowing via Dr. nimbus)
