Reporter appears as Not Connected status but works correctly

Issue/Introduction

The Reporter node appears in status "Not Connected" in the list of Nodes when connected via Univiewer Console Standalone launched from a Citrix server.

The Reporter server runs from the same server as the UVMS, and the extractions and reports work as normal.

Due to the status being "Not Connected" the UVC users cannot run new reports, extractions or display the log or the node settings on this Reporter node.

Environment

Reporter 6.10.121 with UVC Standalone 7.01.01 running on Citrix server

Cause

Traffic closed between the Citrix Windows server where UVC Standalone is launched and the Reporter server.

We could validate this connectivity issue with a telnet command on the hostname and port used for this Reporter server:

telnet <reporter_hostname> 10630

Resolution

Open the Reporter port on the firewall from:

• the servers where the UVC Standalone console may be launched from
• the Tomcat server where the UVC Webconsole may be launched from

The Reporter Server node status is calculated by the Univiewer Console and not by the UVMS (as it occurs for the Dollar Universe nodes).
