Users report that rich text formatting (RTE) in fields like "Notes" does not display correctly within the Custom List Widget on Dashboards or Custom Pages. The text appears as plain text or raw code, making it difficult to read for status reviews.

Cause

This behavior is tied to the user's Display Preference setting. Rich text formatting in data tables is currently only supported when the application display is set to the Roomy preference.

Resolution

To enable rich text formatting in the Custom List Widgets, update your display preferences:

  1. Log in to Rally.
  2. Click on your profile icon or navigate to Application Settings.
  3. Locate the Display Preference option.
  4. Select Roomy from the available options.
  5. Refresh your Dashboard or Custom Page to verify the Notes field now displays formatted rich text.
