Windows diego_cell is flapping between failing and running

Issue/Introduction

The windows_diego_cell VMs start flapping after TAS / EAR for windows version upgrade.

Environment

Tanzu foundations with Prisma Cloud for TAS tile.

Cause

Review the windows_diego_cell VMs logs and verify if the following error is present on the job-service-wrapper.out.log inside the defender_windows job:

03/26/2026 12:49:36: Installing Defender
03/26/2026 12:49:36: Downloading Defender files
{"err":"requested version is missing: stat /var/lib/twistlock/versioned-images/twistlock_defender_windows.zip/34.03.138: no such file or directory"}

This error message is specific to Twistlock / Prisma. It can be caused by the twistlock-console ConfigMap having corrupt information. Twistlock specific errors are out of scope for Tanzu Support.

Resolution

As a workaround, remove Twistlock from the windows cell. Contact vendor to report/work the Prisma/Twistlock specific issues.
