Error in updating virtualservice : Cannot update sharing settings for Virtual Service <vs-name>

Issue/Introduction

While attempting to modify the VIP (VSVIP) associated with a Virtual Service using the dropdown, the following error is observed: "Cannot update sharing settings for Virtual Service..."

Cause

This behavior is expected.In the current implementation of VMware Avi Load Balancer(Avi), the VSVIP association is immutable once a Virtual Service is created. This means that the VIP selected during creation cannot be changed afterward.

Resolution

Direct modification of the VSVIP association is not supported.

If changes are required, consider the following options:

• Modify the existing VSVIP configuration (for example, change the VIP type to static if applicable).
• Alternatively, delete and recreate the Virtual Service with the desired VSVIP configuration.
