Robots are not added to Dynamic Groups in DX UIM 23.4 CU6

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading to DX UIM 23.4 CU6, robots may not be automatically added to Dynamic Groups in the Operator Console (OC). This occurs even when the robots meet the Defined Criteria (e.g., User Tags, OS Type, or OS Name).

The symptoms include:

• Correct tag information is visible in Infrastructure Manager (IM) but missing or outdated in the Operator Console.
• The cm_nimbus_robot table in the UIM database does not update with the latest robot information.

• DX Unified Infrastructure Management (UIM) 23.4 CU6
• Operator Console (OC)

Cause

The issue is typically caused by a failure in the discovery process where source data is not being updated in the cm_nimbus_robot database table. This prevents the nis_server from correctly identifying group members based on the defined criteria.

Resolution

To resolve the issue and force a refresh of the discovery data:

1. Log in to the Primary Hub.
2. Locate and Deactivate the discovery_server probe.
3. Locate and Deactivate the discovery_agent probe.
4. Wait 30 seconds, then Activate both probes.
5. Verification: Check the Operator Console after several minutes to ensure the robots are now correctly populated in their respective Dynamic Groups.
