VMware vSphere ESXi

Issue/Introduction

  • There is an environment which is running end of support versions such as ESXi 6.5, and there are plans to upgrade it to a supported version.
  • But first the environment will require an upgrade to an intermediate end of support version, such as ESXi 6.7, before it can be upgraded to a supported version.
  • Due to this the customer needs to download the ISOs\installers for end of support versions, such as ESXi 6.7, but is not sure where they can be obtained.

Resolution

  • For each version of vSphere (major and update releases, e.g. 8.0, 8.0U1, 8.0U2, 8.0U3, 9.0), Broadcom only hosts the single, most recent OEM Custom ISO and Addon that was certified by Broadcom.
  • OEMs are responsible to host any older certified Custom ISO and Add-on for any version of vSphere. Please refer to the OEM’s website for any Custom ISO or Add-on not listed on the Broadcom support portal.
  • As OEM websites are not under Broadcom control, exact URL locations are not tracked. For questions, please contact your OEM representative.
