Issue/Introduction

When backing up VMs with Veeam by creating and deleting snapshot, it may report "NFC storage connection is unavailable" at Veeam.

Resolution

Assign the "Direct Access" privilege to the role of this user.

Please follow these steps in the vSphere Client:

  1. Log in as an Administrator.
  2. Navigate to Administration > Access Control > Roles.
  3. Select the role assigned to the backup user.
  4. Click Edit.
  5. Locate the Cryptographic operations category.
  6. Select and enable Direct Access.
  7. Click Save.
