VMware Aria Operations (formerly vRealize Operations) 8.x

Issue/Introduction

  • An error may be displayed when attempting to add a replica node that was previously part of the cluster to an existing Aria Operations cluster:

  • https://replica_node_IP_or_FQDN/admin is accessible.

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.x

Cause

Once a node is removed from the cluster, it cannot be re-added to the same cluster.
This behavior is by design. A warning message is displayed during the node removal process indicating this limitation.

Resolution

  1. Delete the replica node virtual machine from the vCenter Server using the vSphere Client.

  2. Deploy a new node using the OVF and configure it as a data node. This node will then serve as the HA replica node.

Additional Information

Create a Node by Deploying an OVF

Run the Setup Wizard to Add a Primary Replica Node
