Re-ordering Columns In Kanban Board View

Issue/Introduction

There is currently not a way to in Modern settings/configuration to re-arrange or re-order columns on a Kanban board for custom objects.

Dragging and dropping columns directly on the board view is not supported for changing the default sequence.

Cause

In the Modern, the Kanban board renders columns from left to right based on the numeric sort order of the lookup values
associated with the attribute used for the "Columns" grouping. The board does not have an independent sorting mechanism as it inherits the sequence from the Studio configuration.

Resolution

To change the order of columns on your Kanban board, adjust the sort order of the underlying lookup values in the
Classic > Administration > Studio > Objects

1.  Log in to Clarity with administrative privileges.
2.  Navigate to Administration > Data Administration > Studio > Objects
3.  Search for and select the object where the Kanban board is located.
4.  Click on the Attributes tab.
5.  Locate and click the attribute used to group your Kanban columns.
6.  Navigate to Administration > Data Administration > Lookups > click the link for the lookup associated with that attribute.
7.  In the list of lookup values, select the value(s) to reorder/move.
8.  Use the up or down arrows located on the far right of the list to move the values into the desired sequence.
9.  Click Save.
10. Return to the Modern, navigate to the Kanban board, and refresh the page to see the updated column order.
