Encryption Management plugin UI stuck loading

Issue/Introduction

• EM plugin UI does not load in the Cloud Director Provider portal.
• The 'systemctl status byok-server.service' command shows no service.
• On the Encryption Management server there are no logs present in the directory /opt/vmware/byok/logs
• API calls to "GET https://<VCD>/api/extension/vmware/byok/v2/keyProviders?pageSize=5&page=1&sortAsc=name&include=icon" fail.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.6.1

VMware Cloud Director Encryption Management 1.2.1

Cause

This issue occurs when the installation steps for Installing VMware Cloud Director Encryption Management have not been completed. The "vcdemctl addon start" command was not run to start Encryption Management as outlined on page 5, section 5e.

Resolution

Review the steps outlined on page 5, section 5 of the document Installing VMware Cloud Director Encryption Management. Mount the ISO to the Encryption Management server and run the command ./vcdemctl addon start as outlined in the document.
