This is a condition that may occur in a VMware NSX environment.
If the storage issue has been resolved but NSX Edge VM remains in an invalid state, perform the following steps:
Workaround:
- In vCenter, navigate to the affected NSX Edge VM.
- Take note of the datastore location.
- Select Actions > Remove from inventory.
- Register the NSX Edge VM back into inventory:
- Navigate to the folder of the affected NSX Edge VM inside the previously noted datastore.
- Right click on the
.vmx file.
- Click Register VM.
- Power on the NSX Edge VM.
- If the NSX Edge VM status does not recover, replace the NSX Edge node with a healthy one:
- Deploy a new NSX Edge node from the NSX UI.
- Replace the affected NSX Edge node with the newly deployed NSX Edge node using the Replace Edge Cluster Member option.
- Delete the affected NSX Edge node from the NSX UI.
- Confirm that the invalid NSX Edge VM is no longer present in the vCenter inventory.
- If it is still in the vCenter inventory, delete the invalid NSX Edge VM from disk.
