HCX Migration Cleanup Fails with Failed to Disable Replication on Source VM

Issue/Introduction

• During HCX migration cleanup for a cancelled job (RAV or Bulk migration), the process fails. The HCX Manager UI displays the following error: "Failed to disable replication on source VM"

• Third-party backup job was running against the VM.

Environment

VMware HCX

Cause

There was a third-party backup job running on the VM, hence failing to disable the replication service on the source VM.

Resolution

1. Perform a Force Cleanup of the migration in the HCX UI and retry the migration.

2. If the error persists after a force cleanup, article to manually disable vSphere Replication.

Once replication is disabled, you can proceed with the migration again. If the above steps does not resolve the issue, please open a support case with Broadcom Support.
