Generating and downloading support logs for Identity Broker in VCF 9

Issue/Introduction

Users may need to collect diagnostic data from the Identity Broker component for troubleshooting authentication or synchronization issues. This process involves manually triggering log generation and subsequently downloading the bundle from the VCF Management interface.

Environment

  • VCF Operations 9.x
  • VCF Fleet Management 9.x
  • VMware Identity Broker 9.x

Cause

Diagnostic data is required for troubleshooting Identity Broker component health and service operations.

Resolution

 

  1. Log in to the VCF Management interface.

  2. Navigate to the Components tab.

  3. Select Identity Broker from the component list.

  4. Click the ellipsis (...) (More Actions) menu in the top right corner of the Identity Broker details page.

  5. Hover over Logs to expand the sub-menu.

  6. Select Generate Logs to start the log collection process for the vidb-primary component.

  7. Once the task completes, return to the same Logs menu and select Download Logs to save the bundle locally.
