Issue/Introduction

During host remediation workflows using vSphere Lifecycle Manager (vLCM), the task progress may stall after the "Started rebooting host" event is logged.
The vSphere Client UI does not update the task status to completed, even if the physical host has successfully cycled or reached a reachable state.

Environment

vSphere Lifecycle Manager

Resolution

Even after checking the host version via SSH or DCUI and confirming the update, if the task remains uncompleted, manually reboot the affected ESXi host to force a status refresh.

To check the host version via SSH, run the following command:

vmware -vl

To check the host version via DCUI, see the host version at the top of the screen.
