Common Services JAVA version after applying PTF(CAR2510)

Issue/Introduction

After applying some PTFs for Common Components and Services for z/OS 15.0, CS, it showing that it required JAVA17 for Common Services configuration, while the JAVA 17 EOS is around September 2026. Can JAVA21 be used directly or need further PTFs to be applied ?

Environment

Common Components and Services for z/OS 15.0 - z/OS supported releases - 

Resolution

A certification was done for Java 21, so no additional PTFs needs to be applied.

This means it can run on Java 21, but Java 21 is not a minimum requirement of Java version.

Just an obvious change is to change the Java PGM in JCLS/PROCs from JVMLDM17 to JVMLDM21 when using Java 21.
