  • Clarification on whether a RabbitMQ AMQP broker is a necessary component or architectural requirement for deploying and operating VMware NSX.

 

Environment

VMware NSX 4.x

Resolution

RabbitMQ is not an architectural requirement for VMware NSX.

RabbitMQ was officially deprecated and its management ports and APIs were permanently removed from the architecture during the VMware NSX-T Data Center 3.x release cycle. Current NSX environments (including NSX 4.x) rely entirely on the Appliance Proxy Hub (APH), NSX-RPC, and the Corfu database for internal communication between the Management Plane, Control Plane, and Transport Nodes.
