Issue/Introduction

•  Trying to create a Static Route on an Edge Gateway of a tenant using an IP belonging to an IP Space results in the following error:
  
  Static Route Network CIDR ###.###.##.##/## cannot overlap with IP Space <ip-space-name> internal scope CIDR ###.###.##.##/##
  
  
• The IP space mentioned is of type Public.

Environment

• VMware Cloud Director 10.6.x

Cause

This is expected and by design. Creation of Static Routes where the network CIDR overlaps with the Public IP Space is not permitted due to tenancy.

Resolution

Private IP Space should be used when creating a Static Route on an NSX Edge Gateway where the network overlaps with an IP Space.
