Issue/Introduction

How to release a job when Jobtrac is start with a HOLD status?

Environment

Release:  11.0

Resolution

Use the * and FORCE command from the ISPF panels to release individual jobs and allow them to run while the schedule is on hold.  Perform the following to issue the command and release job(s) to run:

  • Place the * on the line next to the job to be forced
  • Type FORCE on the command line and press Enter

The job is then allowed to run, even if Jobtrac is on hold.  The job is still subject to any dependencies that it has and is only released when all of its dependencies are satisfied.  This command does not force jobs to run when the checkpoint is locked.
