Issue/Introduction

upon reboot of a client machine running CA Client Automation Remote Control Agent a Windows popup message stating Incompatible display adapter has been disabled .

In Device Manager in Windows there is another error regarding this  CA Client Manager R12 Secure Control Adapter

Component: Remote Control


Cause

The  CA Client Manager R12 Secure Control Adapter is utilized by the remote control agent as a fall back method of connection and if not present or disabled

will revert back using the Polling method of video capture.

Resolution

Go into Windows Device Manager and right click on the CA Client Manager R12 Secure Control Adapter and select to disable or uninstall and reboot the system. 

If you have a large amount of affected machines you can write a batch file to disable the adapter and can be sent out via a Software Delivery job. 


Additional Information

The use of devcon.exe from Microsoft to disable the device in batch file may help administrators writing the needed script to incorporate into an SDO job this is part of the Microsoft SDK.
