Issue/Introduction

After you converge Site Recovery Manager (SRM) from version 9.0.2 to 9.0.5, a test failover fails at step 4. The recovery plan reports that the virtual machine (VM) is not replicated. You verify that replication for the VM is functioning correctly.

Environment

Site Recovery Manager 9.0.2
Site Recovery Manager 9.0.5

Cause

The UUID for the virtual machine replication changes during the convergence process. This causes the protection group to lose synchronization with the replication state.

Resolution

 

  • Remove the affected virtual machine from the protection group.

  • Add the virtual machine back into the protection group.

  • Remove the protection group from the recovery plan.

  • Add the protection group back into the recovery plan.

  • Retest the recovery plan to verify a successful test failover.
