Issue/Introduction

Question:

My system configuration table, al_cdb_configurationparameters table, has encrypted data.  How can I decrypt the data?

Answer:

There is currently no published facility to decrypt the data.  When password information is entered into the Administration -> System Configuration pages, the CA Asset Portfolio Management system automatically encrypts the passwords and writes the encrypted information to the al_cdb_configurationparameters table.

Typically, the encrypted data is related to password information.  If a password is not known, then login to the system as the 'sa' user, and change the password for the user to a known value. Proceed to download the password encryption utility, located here:

http://www.ca.com/us/support/ca-support-online/product-content/recommended-reading/technical-document-index/ca-asset-portfolio-management-solutions-and-patches.aspx, under the APM 12.9 section, named RO72722.

Once the password is encrypted, then update the appropriate configvalues in the al_cdb_configurationparameters table.

Additional information:

This CA Asset Portfolio Management 12.9 encryption utility also operates with CA Asset Portfolio Management 14.1 release.
