To resolve this issue:
- Log in to the affected Cloud Director Cell via SSH using the
root credentials. - Initiate a reboot of the appliance:
shutdown -r now
- Once the appliance has restarted, wait for the services to initialize and attempt to log in to the VAMI UI (
https://<Cloud Director Cell FQDN/IP>:5480) again.
Note. A graceful reboot of the affected appliance is required to re-initialize all management services
- If you reboot the Primary Cell, the whole VCD instance will go down until it restarts. To stop this from happening, you need to promote a Standby Cell to Primary before you start the reboot.
- Always keep at least one Standby Cell running. If you don't, the Primary Cell will switch into a "Read Only Primary" mode, and no one will be able to use the VCD UI/API until a Standby Cell is up and running again
