Rebuilding a Deleted Recovery SDDC in VMware Live Cyber Recovery

Issue/Introduction

The "Delete Recovery SDDC" action was executed, resulting in the removal of the VMware Cloud on AWS SDDC environment. Options are required to restore or rebuild the architecture.

Environment

VMware Live Cyber Recovery (VLCR)
VMware Cloud on AWS

Cause

The "Delete Recovery SDDC" action permanently removes the compute environment. A deleted Recovery SDDC cannot be restored in place.

Resolution

 

• Initiate a new SDDC deployment directly via the VMware Cloud (VMC) UI.

• Allow approximately 2 hours for the base SDDC deployment to complete.

• Add the required i4i hosts to the new SDDC in batches post-deployment.

• If necessary, attach the newly deployed SDDC to VLCR once the build is finalized.
