VMware HCX

Issue/Introduction

  • An existing Site Pairing has disconnected (pending status) due to expired credentials for its associated remote account
  • The option to edit the credentials directly from the HCX UI is greyed out, and you are trying to update using the HCX APIs.
  • When attempting to update the credentials and reconfigure the pairing via the HCX API Explorer > Cloud Registration (/hybridity/docs), the process fails with the following error: "Site-Pair already exists between the sites":

Environment

VMware HCX

Cause

This issue occurs because the HCX API Explorer path being used executes a POST request, which is specifically designed to create a new Site Pairing rather than update an existing configuration. Because the Site Pairing already exists, the system cannot create a duplicate and fails with the error: "Site-Pair already exists between the sites"

Resolution

If you believe you have encountered this issue, open a support case with Broadcom Support and refer to this KB article.
