Issue/Introduction

SystemEDGE Agent traps asserted on more than one device in Spectrum

Cause

Agent logs show multiple IP addresses being detected during address list checks․

If Spectrum has trap IP address assigned to more than one model duplicate alarms can occur.

Resolution

Step 1. CONFIGURE BIND ADDRESS AND TRAP SOURCE:

Modify the sysedge․cf configuration file to pin the agent to a specific IP address․

Location: [install_path]\port#\sysedge․cf

Add or update the following entries:

bind_address [IP-address]
trap_source [IP-address]

EXPECTED: The agent binds exclusively to the specified interface for communication and traps․

Step 2. RESTART THE AGENT:

Restart the SystemEDGE service to apply the configuration changes․
