When rebooting or shutting down Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) version 7, 8, or 9 virtual machines, the vSphere client console displays distorted visual artifacts consisting of green, grey, and occasional red blocks.
This behavior is triggered by an interaction between specific Guest OS splash screen settings and the virtualized hardware. It is a known graphical rendering issue observed in recent RHEL kernel updates when viewed through the VMware vSphere console.
To resolve this issue, please contact the Red Hat Support Team to report the behavior and request further assistance.
