Error in JBOSS EAP server: Can't find bundle for base name smbuild, locale en_US with SiteMinder JBoss agent

Issue/Introduction

Configuring SiteMinder JBoss EAP 8.0 agent, even though the WebAgent authentication and cookie generation work, subsequent JBoss EJB authentication calls fail with the following java errors in server.log of JBoss

Caused by: java.util.MissingResourceException: Can't find bundle for base name smbuild, locale en_US

at java.base/java.util.ResourceBundle.throwMissingResourceException(ResourceBundle.java:2059)

at java.base/java.util.ResourceBundle.getBundleImpl(ResourceBundle.java:1697)

Environment

SiteMinder 12.8 JBoss EAP 8.0 agent, possibly other versions impacted

Cause

When the smbuild.properties file is removed from the jboss server location where the agent copies the jars and properties files (<JBOSS_HOME>/modules/com/ca/siteminder/jbossagent/main),  the same errors are obtained.

Resolution

Please check if the file is present in the JBoss EAP server <JBOSS_HOME>/modules/com/ca/siteminder/jbossagent/main,

 

If this file is not present, it can be copied from another JBoss agent installation location or it can be created from scratch.

 

For instance, for a 12.8 JBoss EAP agent, smbuild.properties has the following contents:
