Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

Getting error message ESF7023 Unable to allocate socket errno=082. Process initialization error during CA Spool initialization.

Resolution:

Common reason for getting this error is either an invalid userid is assigned to the CA Spool task or the userid does not have an OMVS segment defined in the security package. This is a requirement for TCP/IP print and the LPD interface. To correct insure you have an OMVS segment defined to a valid userid for the CA Spool task.
