Issue/Introduction

Windows jobs fail with the below error message during the transition phase of a Zero Downtime Upgrade (ZDU) when the system is running on a base version lower than 24․4․2․‍‍‍‌‍‍‌

ERROR MESSAGE: "U00020331 Runtime error in object 'HEADER․WINDOWS', line '00037': U00003705 Variable 'UC_EX_ECPEXT' not found․"

Context:  The updated 'HEADER․WINDOWS' object introduced in version 24․4․2 attempts to read the variable 'UC_EX_ECPEXT'․ Older Automation Engine cores do not recognize this variable, causing a runtime error during the ZDU window when the new database content is active but the old engine core is still processing jobs․

IMPACT: Multiple batch failures during the upgrade transition until the processing returns to normalcy․

Environment

Functional Area: ZDU with base version 24.4.2 or lower

Cause

DE183342

Resolution

Workaround:

Copy the HEADER.WINDOWS from client 0 to all clients which run windows jobs before the ZDU - with this in place there will be no job failures during ZDU for windows jobs - after the ZDU is finished remove these objects again from the clients.

Solution:

Update to a fix version listed below or a newer version if available.

Fix version:

Component(s): Automation.Engine

Automation.Engine 24.4.5  - TBD
