Tanzu Hub Telemetry data reports incorrect number of app instances.

Issue/Introduction

Early versions of Tanzu Hub has an issue with Telemetry data that may lead to inconsistencies versus other reporting sources.

Tanzu Hub > Foundations > Apps Instances reports a much different number of App Instances than Apps Manager or Tanzu Usage Service.

Example:

(app instances report 18K and 44K above while Apps Manager reports a much lower number for those foundations)

Resolution

The resolution of this issue is to upgrade Tanzu Hub to version 10.3.4 or higher. After upgrading, counts of app instances should automatically correct once jobs run.

If Telemetry data is still incorrect after upgrading then please collect hub-tas-collector logs and open a support case for further review.
