  1. Can DXNetOps NFA and Flow coexist?
  2. NetOps Flow requires external loadbalancer (LB), can LB run on same kubernetes cluster but with different namespace?
  3. How to map devices from different client in NetOps Flow?

Environment

Flow - 25.x

Resolution

  1. Can DXNetOps NFA and Flow coexist?
Yes, NFA and Flow can coexist in same environment.
  2. NetOps Flow requires external loadbalancer (LB), can LB run on same kubernetes cluster but with different namespace?
Loadbalancer cannot run in the cluster. The external load balancer is expected to load flow packet across the different cluster nodes using the source IP as the discriminator. It is mandatory the load balancer respects the original source IP address.
  3. How to map devices from different client in NetOps Flow?
Different collection services, each with different namespace need to be deployed. A collection service is IP Domain aware, IP domains are defined at deployment time.
By default, a collection service listens for flow packets on port 30995. A second collection service should listen on another port (configurable during the deployment). At receiving the flows on different collection services, the collection service only tries to map IPs with the devices in its corresponding IP Domain
