Issue/Introduction

The following error message may be detected on the syslog server:

<syslog.err> <example> rsyslogd:imtcp imtcp: Framing Error in received TCP message from peer: (hostname) <example.>, (ip) ####: delimiter is not SP but has ASCII value ##. [v8.###.#-#.el@]

Resolution

Generally, there may be a problem with the TLS settings or delimiter characters in the Syslog server configuration file (/etc/rsyslogd.conf, etc.).

This is an issue that requires isolation and investigation on the receiving Syslog server.
