Issue/Introduction

When trying to create a configuration-only package for a probe by dragging-and-dropping the probe from a robot to the Archive node.

This fails with "archive_config_from_probe_failed: error" in the Infrastructure Manager.

distsrv.log shows a message similar to the following:

distsrv: zipArchiveAdd: Source file does not exist: Rocky Linux/cdm.cfx\C:\Program Files (x86)\Nimsoft/archive/temp_create

distsrv: zipArchiveAdd: Source file does not exist: info.pkg\C:\Program Files (x86)\Nimsoft/archive/temp_create

Environment

  • DX UIM 23.4.7
  • distsrv probe 23.4.7
  • Windows or Linux
  • nfrastructure Manager (IM) 23.4.7

Cause

  • third party library issue

Resolution

  • This is being investigated by engineering as of March 9 2026.
  • As a workaround, downgrade the diststrv probe(s) to 23.4.6 (which is attached to this KB).
  • This distsrv version 23.4.7 also includes a copy anomaly you might notice:
    • If you copy the probe package via rt-click->Copy the package shows up in the archive folder but it does not display in the IM GUI.
    • Once you downgrade to distsrv v23.4.6, it should display in the GUI.

To test this usage aspect, follow the steps below:

    1. Download the distsrv 23.4.6 from this article.
    2. Select the Primary hub archive.
    3. Rt-click and Import it into your local Primary hub archive.
    4. Drag and drop the 23.4.6 distsrv to deploy it to the Primary hub robot.
    5. Once its finished deploying, navigate to your local archive and select a package like cdm.
    6. Rt-click and copy and rename it to cdm_test_1 etc., etc. and it should display in the Infrastructure Manager (IM) GUI.
