Add Cluster fails with an error, "Failed to get workload domain VDS information"

Issue/Introduction

Add cluster fails to a Workload Domain with an error that reads, "Failed to get workload domain VDS information". The error message is seen in Add Cluster Wizard similar to below image:

Environment

SDDC Manager 5.x

VCF 9.x

Cause

Issue occurrence is seen when the Workload Domain has no default cluster set.

Resolution

This requires validation of stale ESX hosts and SDDC database edits. Database edits are destructive in nature, raise a Broadcom Support Case to seek further assistance.

Note: It shall be helpful if following details are included in the Support Case, so that the issue can be validated and reference stale entries.

• Screenshot of the Error message.
