Unable to disable weak cipher for port 8043 in vSphere Replication appliance

Issue/Introduction

Weak cipher for port 8043 cannot be disabled in vSphere Replication appliance.

Environment

• VMware Live Recovery 9.0.2.x

Cause

The /opt/vmware/hms/conf/hms-configuration.xml can be edited and ciphers removed from the <ssl-ciphers> section but this change is not honored.

 

Resolution

Upgrade to VMware Live Recovery 9.0.5 as this does not require port 8043.
