Intermittent “This namespace is not active” message in VCF Automation 9.0 Overview

Issue/Introduction

In VCF Automation 9.0, the message “This namespace is not active” may intermittently appear in the Overview section of a namespace.
During the time this message appears, no other services are displayed, and only the Service Overview section is visible.

Environment

VCF Automation 9.0

Cause

This behavior occurs when the backend services are slow to respond to UI requests that retrieve the list of IaaS Services associated with the namespace.
Due to this delayed response, the UI may temporarily display the message “This namespace is not active.”

Resolution

Broadcom is aware of the behavior. A permanent fix is expected to be included in a future release of VCF Automation.

Workaround: 

Refresh the UI to trigger another backend request for the namespace status. This can be done by:

• • Reloading the browser page, or
  • Navigating to another tab within the UI and returning to the Overview section.

Performing either of these actions forces the UI to refresh the namespace information and typically clears the message.
