Issue/Introduction
What is the unit of space to represent the datastore capacity on the vCenter Server or the ESXi host?
What system is used to represent the datastore capacity?
Environment
VMware vCenter Server
VMware vSphere ESXi
Resolution
The VMware vCenter Server and the ESXi host uses the International System of Units (SI) or the Metric System or the Decimal System to represent the Datastore Capacity
The VMware vCenter Server therefore may represent the datastore capacity either in GBs(Giga Bytes) or TBs (Tera Bytes)
On the ESXi host it may be represented in Bytes although the system used will still be the Decimal or the SI system
