Error "LCMVROPSYSTEM30018" during VMware Cloud Foundation Automation Inventory Sync

Issue/Introduction

When attempting an inventory sync in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) before an environment upgrade, the process fails at Stage 2.

Inventory sync fails with Error Code: LCMVROPSYSTEM30018:

Resolution

• Backup: Ensure a current snapshot of the SDDC Manager and Aria Suite Lifecycle (LCM) appliances exists.

• Remove Component: Delete the Automation component from the VCF Operations/Aria Suite Lifecycle inventory. Revert to the VCF Automation Instance in the Protected VMware Cloud Foundation Instance.

  • Note: Do NOT select the option to delete the virtual machines. 

• Re-import: Perform an Import of the existing Automation environment. Deploying VCF Automation as a Day-N Operation.

• Validation: Once the import is successful, trigger a manual Inventory Sync. The process should now complete. Synchronize the VCF Operations Fleet Management Inventory for Site Protection and Disaster Recovery for VMware Cloud Foundation.
