Cannot configure SFTP backup destination in VMware Aria Operations due to error LCMVMSP10035

Issue/Introduction

• While trying to setup an SFTP backup endpoint for VCFA, the following error is received;

  • Error Code: 'LCMVMSP10035', 'Synthetic checker on the application platform failed.

• In the 'vmware-vrlcm.log' in the directory '/var/log/vrlcm' on the Fleet Management appliance the following entry will be present;

  • ERROR vrlcm[1262] [pool-3-thread-100] [c.v.v.l.v.p.u.VMSPServerRestUtil]  -- Timeout! Synthetic checker failed after 1800 seconds.
    ERROR vrlcm[1262] [pool-3-thread-100] [c.v.v.l.v.p.t.p.ClusterWaitForNodesTask]  -- Synthetic check failed. VCF Operations 9.x

Cause

The old SFTP credentials are stored in VCFA

Resolution

Follow the KB linked below to update the SFTP password on the VCFA;

• Unable to configure SFTP backups after username and password change in Fleet Manager

Additional Information

If you are prompted to change an expired 'vmware-system-user' password on logging into the VCFA appliance, please ensure the following KB is followed to update the password secret stored in VMSP

• Unable to remediate VCF automation "vmware-system-user" password once expired
