Issue/Introduction

When a new AWS account is added to CloudHealth, customers may expect to see the full lifetime billing history for that account.

By design, CloudHealth ingests:

  • The previous 12 full historical months, and

  • The current month-to-date

This results in a total of 13 months of cost data being available after onboarding.

Cost and usage data older than 12 months prior to onboarding will not be ingested to the platform.

Resolution

This behavior is expected and working as designed.

After adding a new AWS account:

  1. Allow the initial billing ingestion process to complete (this may take up to 24-48 hours depending on data volume).

  2. Confirm that:

    • The prior 12 full months of data are visible.

    • The current month-to-date data is populating.

If cost data within that 13-month window is missing or incomplete, contact Support for further investigation.

Please note that cost data older than 12 months prior to account onboarding cannot be retroactively ingested.
